CES 2018 was a great showcase for many exciting new Thunderbolt™ 3 based products. During the event there were more than 15 new PCs and more than 30 new peripherals launched. There were new Notebook and Desktop PC designs announced and a variety of peripheral types including Displays, Storage, Docks, External Graphics, and more which clearly showcased the significant growth of the Thunderbolt 3 ecosystem.
- Many new PCs were launched with Thunderbolt 3 ports, including the initial 8th Gen Intel® Core™ processor with Radeon™* RX Vega M graphics designs from HP, Dell, and Intel, and CES award winning designs from Dell and Lenovo.
- Thunderbolt 3 enabled Displays are being established as a new and growing category for the Thunderbolt ecosystem, with seven displays launched at CES including award winning designs from LG and Samsung.
- Portable non-volatile memory express (NVMe) solid state drive (SSD) based storage is another new Thunderbolt 3 category being established, with several new devices being announced at CES, including products from leading brands like Dell and HP
- Thunderbolt 3 docks, external graphics, and other categories continue to expand, with several new products being announced in each of these categories.
