The Thunderbolt™ ecosystem saw many announcements around the 2016 holidays, followed by a significant number of additional announcements and products launched at CES 2017.
As we kickoff off 2017, the Thunderbolt™ ecosystem added over thirty new Thunderbolt™ 3 enabled host platforms designed for a broad array of consumer, gaming and commercial IT users. Notable additions were made by Dell and HP, as well as Lenovo who introduced a large number of new Thunderbolt™ 3 capable Thinkpad laptops along with their Thunderbolt™ 3 dock.

- The Daily Dot Provided a good overview of USB3.1 and Thunderbolt 3 “Thunderbolt 3 isreally fast, transmitting at a whopping max transfer rate of 40Gbps. That makes it four times faster than USB 3.1, eight times faster than USB 3.0”
